Presentation Summary: Learn about the series of events leading to a stronger floodplain ordinance in Cedar Falls, how the ordinance has worked, and a few insights about upstream solutions as related to reducing flood risks.

About our Speaker:  Kamyar Enshayan served on the Cedar Falls City Council during the floods of 2008 and helped strengthen the Cedar Falls floodplain ordinance to better prepare the city for the floods of the future.  He teaches courses on energy & climate as well as food & agriculture in Iowa.  He is a mechanical engineer by training and directs University of Northern Iowa's Center for Energy & Environmental Education.  Kamyar serves on the Black Hawk County Planning & Zoning Commission.
