WEBINAR: Quick Floodplain Management 101

Join us for a webinar to help you in your professional stormwater management and floodplain work.

Presentation Summary:
One of the keys to reducing flood losses is the proper management of new development in the floodplain. Communities participating in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) must require permits for new development within their identified Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA). This webinar will provide a quick overview of some of the basics of floodplain management, including floodplain mapping, Letters of Map Change (LOMC), substantial improvement/damage, and the regulatory requirements and procedures that comprise an effective local floodplain management program.
